Paddleboarding is a great way to experience the river. With all lessons, we will take it at the group's pace and not push anyone into anything uncomfortable. We will spend an adequate amount of time on flat water or slow moving water - learning stance, paddle strokes, how to fall - so prepare to get wet:)
When everyone is comfortable and has good control of board and paddle, we will progess to play on the slower stretches of the Yampa. We will work on navigating the river, how to eddy out, recovering after a fall, and other techniques. We will stop along the way to rest, ask questions, have a snack or drink.
Once eveyone is ready, we will paddle the class II stretches of the Yampa, surfing the A wave and Z wave, then dropping Charlie's Hole and D Hole. We will finish either at the Stockbridge Transit Center or Bear River Park.
